  AMERICA'S CANYONLANDS

Thurs, May 29 - Fri, June 6, 2008
Thurs, Sept. 18 - Fri, Sept. 26, 2008

1st Day:
In midafternoon we meet the tour escort at our hotel in Phoenix, Arizona. We will then be taken on a mini tour of this modern city. We are treated to a special welcome dinner in one of the area's best restaurants tonight. (D)

2nd Day: We drive north to the town of Sedona, a place whose mountain setting is as spectacular as any in the country. Sedona is surrounded by an incredible array of massive multi-colored mountains. Many may even seem familiar as they have served as the backdrop to numerous television and movie westerns for so many years. We continue our drive through magnificent Oak Creek Canyon on our way to the Grand Canyon - one of the Seven Wonders of the World, where we have accommodations for the next two evenings. Don't miss sunset at the canyon, always a breathtaking event. (B, D)

3rd Day:   We take a tour of the awe-inspiring Grand Canyon. The wonder of the place is that, with every stop we make we seem to be looking at an entirely different canyon. The views change dramatically, as do its colors, at every vantage point from which you look at the canyon. Just looking out over this remarkable landscape is an experience of unimaginable awesome beauty. The rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy one of Mother Nature's great masterpieces at your own pace. (B, D)

4th Day:   Leaving the Grand Canyon we drive to the border of Arizona and Utah as we visit Monument Valley. Taking the scenic route via Kayenta, we tour the homelands of the Navajo Indians and marvel at the giant red sandstone towers for which the area has been named. Our drive then continues until we reach tonight's destination - Page, Arizona. (B, D)

5th Day:   We are treated to a remarkable day of unbelievable beauty and uncommon serenity as we take a cruise on Lake Powell. Cruising on the calm, turquoise waters of Lake Powell through the canyons and being surrounded by one majestic, multi-colored mountain after another is one of the great highlights of this trip - or any other trip you will ever take. (B, D)

6th Day:   We drive through magnificent country until we arrive at Bryce National Park. One of America's most spectacular parks, we're immediately impressed with the awesome rock formations for which Bryce is known. These incredible "hoodoos" appear as if Mother Nature took a copying machine and made copies of miraculously sculptured monuments. Rich colors and spectacular vistas make our visit most memorable. (B, D)

7th Day:   Have your cameras ready for today's drive to another of America's treasures - Zion National Park. One has a remarkable sensation of nature in this park as we view incredibly massive and majestic mountains, wildlife and a park rich with beautiful foliage, waterfalls and streams. We drive to Mesquite, Nev. where we have accommodations and dinner tonight. (B, D)

8th Day:   We drive south this morning until we arrive at the "Entertainment Capital of World" - Las Vegas. We spend the day in this fantasyland for adults. We can try our luck in one of the casinos, visit some of the spectacular new hotels, enjoy some of the world class entertainment or dine in one of Las Vegas' many fabulous restaurants. (B)

9th Day: We transfer to McCarran airport to board our plane for the return flight home. (B)
